Occupation & Liberation:
An International Conference on the Pacific War in the Philippines

CALL FOR PAPERS

In commemoration of the 70th year anniversary of the end of the Pacific War, the University of the Philippines Department of History, in cooperation with the Third World Studies Center, will hold an international conference with the theme Occupation & Liberation. The conference will underscore the role of human agency in the fight for freedom by highlighting the numerous actors involved in the fight for liberation; the various narratives that provide a meaningful way to remember the day-to-day stories of individuals who lived and survived the war; and the various discourses on the Pacific War that reveal the complexities of this critical juncture in history.
