CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: One (1) Part-Time Research Assistant

Ms. Yuko Kubo, a PhD student at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo, and Visiting Research Fellow at the UP Third World Studies Center is looking for a female part-time research assistant for three (3) months (contract renewable), starting 17 December 2018. The RA will assist Ms. Kubo on her study on Filipino women who have experienced miscarriages and how they think about the fetus. In particular, the RA will translate from English to Filipino interview questionnaires and interview consent forms, as well as translating and transcribing interviews with key informants during field work.

Net compensation is PhP15,000.00 a month. Weekly schedule of work will be determined between Ms. Kubo and the RA.
Applicants must be:
  • University of the Philippines female students (senior standing) or recent U.P. female graduates of courses in the social sciences, women’s studies, and/or community work;
  • those who can communicate effectively both in English and Filipino;
  • those who have no ideological prejudice about reproductive health; and
  • willing to work in Manila City for four (4) days a week from 10 am to 4 pm.

Preference will be given to those who:
  • have done academic and practical backgrounds in women's studies and community work and
  • live in Manila City.
