ATTY. ALGAMAR A. LATIPH is a human rights lawyer and a peace advocate. Currently the Exeutive Director of Center for Governance and Peace Studies. He is a former Chairperson of the Regional Commission on Human Rights at the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
PROFESSOR JULKIPLI WADI is Associate Professor 7 at the UP Institute of Islamic Studies. He has an MA in Islamic Studies in UP and took up units in Ph.D. PolSci also in UP. His specialization includes Islamic thought and the social and political dynamics of the Muslim world. He also served as the 7th Dean of the Institute. He is often sought for interviews for his insights into emerging issues concerning the realm of Muslim political movements, including the Bangsamoro peace process and the ongoing conflict surrounding Marawi.
FORMER CONGRESSMAN FRANCISCO ASHLEY ACEDILLO (or “Ace” to friends) was a member of the 16th Congress. As a Party-list Representative, Acedillo brought to Congress a combination of youthful dynamism, disciplined dedication, as well as a deep understanding of the Philippine bureaucracy. The latter stems from his days consulting for various government agencies spanning legislation, national security, health, transportation, and urban development from 2008-2013. He served as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Globalization and WTO and was a member of six major committees, namely Appropriations, Civil Service and Professional Regulation, Foreign Affairs, Higher and Technical Education, Government Reorganization and Transportation as well as being member of two other special committees: the Committee on East ASEAN Growth and the Congressional Oversight Committee on Disaster Management. Prior to his stint in the legislature and in management consulting, he served as a combat helicopter pilot in some of the front lines of the Philippine military’s counterinsurgency campaigns, where he was awarded the Gold Cross Medal for gallantry in action (the third highest combat award for combat) and two Distinguished Aviation Crosses for his various exploits as an aviator. Acedillo graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) with a Bachelor of Science (Management) in 1999 - garnering the highest marks in History courses for all four years in PMA. In 2011, he finished his Master of Management from the prestigious Asian Institute of Management (AIM) where he was awarded a Washington Sycip Graduate School of Business Full Scholarship. In September 2016, he was designated as President of the Institute for Policy, Strategy and Developmental Studies, Inc. (IPSDI) - a newly-organized private, non-partisan think tank based in Quezon City. Acedillo is married to the former Maria Paz Victoria Ocampo, and they have a daughter, Maria Angela Noelle.
