The afternoon discussion will bring together advocates of sustainable eating, responsible travel and ethical finance to discuss the history and practice of consumer movements. Of particular focus will be how consumer movements participate in larger development objectives and engage with broader social movements for a just and sustainable world. Especially in the Philippine context, including the recent typhoon and other climate-related disasters, what might a consumer movement framework bring to philosophical debates about the process of social change and sustainable development?
